The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 is an ultra-hydrating serum that helps plump and smooth the skin. Its formula is vegan as well as Paraben and Phthalate free.
If you saw my recent nighttime skincare routine, then you likely already saw that I’ve been using The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 for the last little while.
Skincare is super important to me. While I love makeup, my first beauty love is skincare. To me, there’s nothing more relaxing than following a really lovely and pampering skincare routine.
Hyaluronic Acid doesn’t work in the way that Lactic, Glycolic, or Salicylic acids work. Those acids dissolve dead skin to exfoliate your skin and leave it feeling smoother – read more about the benefits of chemical exfoliation, as well as my favourite Lactic Acid Skincare.
Instead, Hyaluronic Acid helps your skin hold more water and therefore, appear more supple, smooth, and hydrated.
Our body actually creates hyaluronic acid naturally for our skin and joints, but over time the rate of production in our body reduces.
For this reason, it’s great to incorporate hyaluronic acid into your skincare routine to reduce the look of current fine lines and wrinkles.
Yes to all! The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 can actually be used by all skin types as it is a really lightweight moisturizer.
I highly recommend it for those who struggled with dry skin though as it will help add a lot of moisture back into it.
Use The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 in the AM and PM after cleansing your skin and applying acids, and before applying oil-based products or moisturizers onto your skin. Here is an example:
Step 1: Cleanse your skin
Step 2: Use a toner
Step 3: The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5
Step 4: Moisturizer
Step 5: Suncare
Step 1: Cleanse your skin
Step 2: Use a toner
Step 3: Acids 1-3 times a week (like The Ordinary Lactic Acid 5% + HA)
Step 4: The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5
Step 5: Moisturizers, and serums
You can use The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 each day in the morning and evening.
Since it’s more of a moisturizer rather than an acid, you can use this daily. Chemical exfoliants should only be used 1-3 times weekly.
Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 is great for adding hydration and moisture back into the skin.
This helps make your skin appear more supple and plump which reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Maintaining moisture in the skin will help slow signs of aging in the skin.

So you know what Hyaluronic Acid does for your skin – but what about Vitamin B5? Well, Vitamin B5 helps to increase the skin’s moisture and also helps your skin better absorb the hyaluronic acid to make this skincare product more available.
It is supposed to be safe to use when you’re pregnant/nursing but my advice to you is to first consult your doctor.
