The difference between PC conduit and PVC conduit
The material of PVC conduit is polyvinyl chloride, which is more commonly used and cheaper.
PC conduit is made of polycarbonate material, which is expensive, strong, and long-lasting.
1. Due to the different materials of the two types of conduit, their physical and chemical properties are also different:
1) The material of PC conduit has excellent impact resistance, high tensile strength, bending strength, and compression strength; Low creep resistance and stable size; Has good heat resistance and low temperature resistance, stable mechanical properties, dimensional stability, electrical properties, and flame retardancy over a wide temperature range, and can be used for a long time at -60~120 ℃; No obvious melting point, in a molten state at 220-230 ℃; Low water absorption rate, low shrinkage rate, high dimensional accuracy, good dimensional stability, and low film permeability; Belonging to self extinguishing materials; Stable to light, but not resistant to ultraviolet light, with good weather resistance; Resistant to oil, acid, strong alkali, oxidizing acids, amines, ketones, soluble in chlorinated hydrocarbons and aromatic solvents, and prone to hydrolysis and cracking in water for a long time;
2) The material of PVC conduit is amorphous white powder with low branching degree, relative density of about 1.4, glass transition temperature of 77-90 ℃, and decomposition begins at around 170 ℃. It has poor stability to light and heat. At temperatures above 100 ℃ or after prolonged exposure to sunlight, it will decompose and produce hydrogen chloride, which will further catalyze decomposition, causing discoloration and rapid decline in physical and mechanical properties.
2. The advantages and disadvantages of the two types of pipe materials are different:
1) PC (polycarbonate) resin for PC conduit is a high-performance thermoplastic engineering plastic with outstanding impact resistance, good creep resistance and dimensional stability, heat resistance, low water absorption, non toxicity, and excellent dielectric properties. It is one of the five major engineering plastics with good transparency and has also grown rapidly in recent years as a general engineering plastic. The disadvantages are poor fatigue resistance, easy stress cracking, poor solvent resistance, and poor wear resistance
2) The outstanding advantages of PVC resin plastic products for PVC conduit are flame retardancy, wear resistance, chemical corrosion resistance, and good gas and water vapor leakage. In addition, with comprehensive mechanical properties, product transparency, electrical insulation, heat insulation, noise reduction, and shock absorption, it is a universal material with superior performance price ratio. The defect is poor thermal stability and impact resistance, and both hard and soft PVC are prone to brittleness during use;
3. The two types of conduit have different purposes
1) PC conduit is difficult to bend and is generally used for pre embedding strong and weak electrical pipelines.
2) PVC conduit is easy to bend, usually using small-diameter pipes for outdoor monitoring, alarm and other line protection.
