Heat resistance
NBR: The operating temperature range is generally - 40°C to 120°C. It will harden and lose elasticity in low temperature environments, and it is easy to age and degrade at high temperatures.
FKM: The operating temperature range is generally - 20°C to 250°C, and some special FKM can even reach 300°C, and it can still maintain flexibility and sealing performance in extremely high temperature environments.

Chemical resistance
NBR: Good resistance to non-polar chemicals and mineral oils, but weak resistance to acids and alkalis, especially strong acids, strong alkalis or oxidizing chemicals.
FKM: Excellent resistance to almost all common chemicals, including strong acids, strong alkalis, solvents, etc. The only weakness is slightly lower resistance to some ketones and amines.

Oil resistance
NBR: Good resistance to mineral oil, diesel, and hydraulic oil, but the performance may decrease in high-temperature oil environments, and the resistance to fuels with a high proportion of aromatics or ester oils is average.
FKM: Excellent chemical resistance to most oils, including gasoline, diesel, aviation fuel, aromatics and ester oils, and almost no hardening, cracking or swelling will occur when exposed to high-temperature oil environments for a long time.

NBR: Poor resistance to ozone, ultraviolet rays and weather aging, and needs to add antioxidants and anti-aging agents to enhance.
FKM: It has excellent weather resistance and can maintain its performance even when exposed to sunlight, ozone and other harsh environments for a long time.

NBR: When burning, the flame is yellow, there is black smoke, and it will produce a pungent smell. Because it contains nitrogen, irritating gases such as nitrogen oxides may be produced after combustion.
FKM: It is difficult to burn and may extinguish itself after leaving the fire source. The flame is bright white, and irritating hydrogen fluoride gas is produced, which smells special and pungent.

NBR: It can be tested with reagents such as ketones or aromatic compounds. NBR may swell, soften or deteriorate after contact with these reagents.
