Grooved pipe fittings in winter installation attention

The installation of groove fittings is closely related to season and temperature. There is a big difference between low and high temperatures. So, what should we pay attention to when installing groove fittings in low-temperature environments? This is a significant aspect closely related to our engineering quality.

1. Keeping the working temperature consistent with room temperature is beneficial for the normal installation of installation workers.

2. Ensure that all components are not forgotten to be installed due to cold weather.

3. Try to choose legitimate manufacturers of groove pipe fittings for purchase.

Slow down the work speed: Due to the lower temperature in winter, the material hardness is higher and the flexibility is weakened. During construction, the speed should be slowed down, and low altitude operations should be completed first. High altitude operations should be carried out after the temperature warms up.

Temporary drainage system: The construction site needs to be drained in a timely manner to avoid water accumulation and freezing, which may affect the construction progress, and to prevent water from eroding the slope of the trench and causing it to slide down.

Anti icing measures: Effective anti icing measures should be taken for excavated trenches, such as laying grass curtains, discarded cotton cloth, etc., to avoid affecting pipeline installation due to icing.

Prevent pipe floating: During winter construction, backfill soil to a height greater than twice the pipe diameter above the pipe top to prevent displacement or floating caused by water bubbles before the pipe installation is completed. If this occurs, rework should be carried out.

Shorten construction period: In winter, the temperature is low and prone to freezing. Construction personnel should quickly excavate trenches, install and backfill to prevent freezing from affecting installation and backfilling.
